Made To Order

Let’s face it, sometimes desperation sinks in whether we want it to or not. You think life has forgotten you, sometimes for weeks, sometimes for months and sometimes for years. You pray, ask, think and breathe your solutions and they do not come.

What should you do? The answer is EVERYTHING you can. Write it down, detail what you want, tell everyone, pray about it and believe you can, will and have already received what you want.

Then one day your desire comes into your path, as it always does, maybe with some modifications. You will always get close to what you want but you have to pay your dues.

When you do finally get what you want do not forget to give thanks for it. How can you ask for other things in your life when you do not appreciate the things that you do have in your life?

Until next time.

Are You Ready To Compromise?

By Bert Oliva

0

Should you give in to others demands when you believe in something? How far should you stand up for your principles? What if it calls for sacrificing your family for a period of time?

To compromise is to make a deal where someone gives up part of, or all of its demand. In arguments, compromise is a concept of finding agreement through communication, through a mutual acceptance of terms often involving variations from an original goal or desire.

Honorable people usually go for it all the way, but how do you make up for time lost in your life?

In life, in order to get a little you have to give a little. But do not expect to get a lot when you give a little. I believe this is where most people are in life. You want tons of results from life but you are not willing to give tons into what you want. How can you quench your thirst if you only pour yourself half a glass? If you compromise or set up a goal when you go in, you should know what your breaking point is. Just be realistic.

Planning for the unforeseen should safeguard your future outcomes. If your future includes a family, then you should setup the plan with them. When you have an obligation to a family you need to include them in the process and keep them involved so you can make these decisions together and stay together in the long run.

Until next time.

Borrowed Time

By Bert Oliva

0

One of the things I treasure most is my time. It is one of the things that you can never repeat exactly the same way, even if you try.

That is why I do not like people to waste my time and I make it a rule never to waste anyone else’s time. When someone does not really appreciate what you do, then they should just be honest and tell you. Do not string people along, it is wrong.

Parents really take this to heart when I share it with them. We love to spend time with our children, but if we are busy with someone who has no intention of buying something you are selling or meeting a goal you have, then they are STEALING your time from your children or family.

So, remember to be honest with people because one day someone can do it to you. And if you are like me, I want my free time to be spent with my children because they are on borrowed time. When our children grow up they go on to their lives and time with you is limited. So enjoy all the time you can when they are children and under your roof.

Until next time.

It’s On Your Mind, And Everyone Else’s Too

By Bert Oliva

0

It’s about time you take away those scary, negative thoughts from your mind. Truly
focus on the positive, stay on track and do not let the bad words of the media or people around you steal your energy. Try to energize everyday to start your day; create a ritual. If you need to speak to someone, jam the music or drink your favorite drink, then DO IT.

Let’s start with us and infect people with positivity, words of wisdom or wonderful outcomes. There is enough garbage out there that does not contribute to it. You can make a difference in your life as well as others.

The news is the recession is coming to an end. It will be mid next year before we feel the positive effects of joblessness going down, of people recuperating from the hits and money being spent again. But the good news is already happening all around us today! It is a fact that the most success stories come about during the hard times then any other.

So, lets finish this era up by keeping our outlook positive and feeding it everyday.

Until next time.

You can make a difference in your life as well as others.” – Bert Oliva

Limiting Beliefs

By Bert Oliva

0

Do you have limiting beliefs that are preventing you from reaching your goals? Most likely you’ll find yourself doing the same old thing year after year, thinking that nothing will ever change for you. If the truth will set you free, surely nothing will change you more quickly than knowing your limiting beliefs.

Is it possible to have faith in something that you believe in with all your heart, mind, and soul, and for that something to still be false? Limiting beliefs are limiting in facts and are ideas which you choose to take on faith alone. When you presume false ideas to be absolutely true, you force your mind to operate in a state of disillusionment.

Eliminating your limiting Beliefs:

1) Explore the less than desirable things that happen in you life.
2) Explore the feeling that you experience on a recurring basis.
3) Uncover when you first experienced this feeling.
What was the triggering event?
What were the painful feelings you experienced?
What beliefs about yourself and/or others did you internalize in the moment of your painful experience?
4) Acknowledge these destructive feelings and transition them to a positive by finding the solution they offer you. So instead of complaining about traffic use the time to listen to an audio book.

Once you have mastered the techniques to discover your limiting beliefs, you can address them immediately. By breaking those patterns, it will finally be possible to reach the goals you said a person like you could never reach. I heard in the news about a woman who lifted a car to rescue her pinned child. Before that day she never though she could lift a car, but at that moment she saw no other option. Sure her adrenaline was pumping, but she had no room in her mind to wonder if she could do it, only that she had to do it.

You are the director of your life’s story. If you want to change the story you have to change your beliefs (and feelings) about the story. When you decide that something is important enough, you will overcome those limiting beliefs, but why wait until that moment. Address those beliefs today that are holding you from the promotion, solid relationship, or just general happiness.

Here is your homework:
In a quite place with no distractions spend 5-10 minutes thinking about each of the questions below. Go through each layer of limiting beliefs (they will sound more like excuses), until you get to the core. At that point you can address it and change your destructive patterns that have been holding you back.

-What are the reoccurring disappointments in your life?
-What caused these disappointments?
-What was it that you needed to do to
prevent it from happening?
-What kept you from doing it?
-Though it will be uncomfortable, what will you do next time so that you have the opportunity to have a better outcome?
-Are you holding on to any of these limiting beliefs?

Change your beliefs, Change your life!

Until next time.

Intuition

By Bert Oliva

0

Have you ever asked yourself what is my gut saying? Think about how many times you asked yourself that question and then all of a sudden you adverted danger. It was your internal radar alerting you, otherwise known as your gut or INSTINCTS. Your intuition saved your life because your were paying attention to it.

According to neuro-scientists, our brains have two reactions – the uneasy feeling that you get in the back of your mind or the realization that you have made a bad decision.

In order to recognize these feelings and have them interpret the information for your best decision, you must learn to program yourself accordingly.

Think about what happens to your body when you have that sensation. Your stomach feels weird, your hairs stand up, you sometimes feel the adrenaline entering your body. You may wonder why this happens – it is merely that your digestive system shuts down to allow more blood in to your bloodstream.

That shot of adrenaline signals your brain that something is wrong. So your sensors turn on. So pay attention. Your subconscious works almost 10 times faster than your conscious mind. So your conscious mind has no idea because it has not processed the information yet. At this precise moment your sub-conscious has triggered what is called the fight-mode.

That is when you feel your peripheral vision turn on, your senses feel heightened. You have the need to turn around or move out of the way.

So, learn to listen to your inner-self it could save your life, your health or your future.

Until next time.

Have You Had One Today?

By Bert Oliva

Have you ever really thought about how important hugs are? When is the last time you had a real strong powerful hug from someone? A hug is one of the most important signs of affection or love. It is something you can do in public or in private without any stigma. Hugs show you really care. It has been said that you need four hugs a day to survive, eight to maintain your sanity and twelve to grow and develop.

Hugs are a form of romantic exchange, support, comfort, emotional warmth or just plain old happiness. Hugs don’t just feel good they are needed for the spirit. Hugs transfer energy from one person to another and requires little investment with big gains.

Hugs have also been proven to have health benefits like increasing levels of oxytocin, and reduce blood pressure. It also helps the bodies immune system, it can relieve pain and help with depression.

There are also many types of hugs, you have bear hugs, a-frame hugs (this one is a little formal e.g. just neck sticking out), cheek hugs, group hugs and the best part is when you give one you get one in return.

Who do YOU need to hug today?

Until next time.

Coach Potatoes BEWARE!

By Bert Oliva

0

I heard a phrase one time that truly made sense to me and I think it will to you as well, “laziness stops progress.” However progress may not be the only thing that can be affected by pure laziness, other deferments in coping with the lack of results in your life such as stress, guilt or even crisis to name some.

Some degree of laziness or procrastination is healthy but like everything, anything in excess is anything but healthy. Of course laziness comes in different levels, the most common types are: Relaxed & Inferior Laziness. The Relaxed Person is the one that avoids responsibility and seeks out the fun first in their lives. They reward themselves before they even get anything done at work. The Tense Person is the unrealistic person. They lack focus and can drag on a task over and over and over again. They usually feel overwhelmed and avoid or withdraw from friends or any type of social life.

Other types of procrastinators are: Perfectionist, The Crisis-Maker, The Dreamer, The Defyer, The Worrier and The Over-Doer.

What shall we do to overcome these internal battles? Well for one, TAKE ACTION! Don’t think about it, just get up and start one little bite (break it down in to small tasks if it is a large project) of what needs to get done. Remove any distractions, shut off TV, lock the door and stay focused. If you lack some of the motivation to get it done you might want to ask for help to get you going or take a picture of an item to help you see the result you are looking for. Preplan the reward you want when you finish this task, like a movie, a glass of wine or whatever you would like it to be. Another thing you can do is go for a small walk by yourself and think of the benefits.

Try not to focus too much on the negative aspects of completing this project or task. Focus on visualizing yourself with the task completed; you can use positive affirmations to help focus. Every time you overcome your laziness you get stronger. Every time you choose to act, you increase your ability to win, achieve goals and improve your life!

Until next time.

A Family Affair

By Bert Oliva

0

For several years now I have been friends with a very special family, the Bretoneche’s. They are special because I have never met such a tight family that all live for one dream. Their dream is to make their Nathalie a SUPERSTAR; she will be the next Shakira.

Her father Julio told me that he would do anything in the world, including sell his assets to make sure she makes it to the top. What dedication. Also, her twin sister is the choreographer and her older sister is the manager.

They have worked so hard to make sure she gets her album done and record launched this Wednesday. This family has had this goal, this dream turn into a reality. Pushing, crying, fighting and loving it into their lives. This is how you make your dreams come true, it is never easy but when you focus, you can make your dreams a reality. To make sure she does not get lost along the way her family contracted me, to coach her and guide her to make sure that fame, fortune and friends do not hinder her growth and keep her two feet tightly grounded.

I wanted to share this story with you because I wish for all of you out there that have a dream or a big goal in your lives, make sure to explain it in detail to your family and have them support you. I want you to push, push some more and when you think you cannot push any more, push harder.

Until next time.

Get It Done

By Bert Oliva

Let’s talk about restriction. Restriction creates confinement, it regulates your life and constricts growth. I have always hated to feel like someone or something is holding me back from a goal or something I want or need in my life. When you create restriction in your life you can hinder wealth, relationships and even create fear.

One thing I learned early in life was to challenge anything that got in my way for what I thought was the right thing to do. If I was scared of someone in school I faced up to him, or if I was not sure of a deal I was making I researched until I knew exactly what I was doing. I always face the challenges; sometimes even enjoy them because I know the reward is worth it.

You can eliminate restrictions in your life very easily. But it all starts in your mind and in your heart. You have to believe that you can do it from the bottom of your heart, you have to focus all your energy to get the job done and lastly you have to make a move, take action. You have to BREAKTHROUGH and do it. You just need to jump in sometimes and the rest will come to you.

Good luck and tell me about your experiences and how you broke through. I would love to hear about them.

Until next time.
